Glover’s Atoll is a World Heritage Site and Marine Reserve. Glovers Atoll Island Lodge is located on our privately owned 9 acre; 5 hectare Northeast Cay in the Glovers Marine Reserve, white sand, coral, & coconut trees, left in their natural state on top of the pristine reef.
GLOVER’S ATOLL was named after pirate brothers, John and Rodger Glover, in the1750’s. Before pirates the Mayans sailed here, pieces of Mayan pottery have been found on the islands and beaches. In 1996 the Atoll was designated as Marine Reserve.

This family-owned business was started over 45 years ago by Collet Maheia Sr., a true Belizean entrepreneur. From his hometown of Mullins River in the StannCreek District, Mr. Maheia started by ferrying passengers and goods aboard his sailing lighter, the “United”. As his business grew, he added more lighters and eventually began trading in shell shank, beach sand and river sand used in construction. He eventually added dump trucks to provide delivery services from the sailing lighters to anywhere on land. This eventually led to a freight, trucking and heavy equipment rental service.
