Destination Belize is the Official Belize Visitor’s Guide of the Belize Tourism Industry Association (BTIA). For the past fifteen years, BTIA’s Destination Belize magazine has been the authority on Belize travel. The 2012 edition is the 16th edition, and will take a new integrated destination marketing aproach. BTIA is Belize’s largest tourism association, and as an umbrella organization, encompasses all sectors within the industry. With twenty-five years of membership commitment, BTIA is still the voice of the tourism industry, and provides a network and forum for addressing tourism related concerns. The Belize Tourism Expo (BETEX) is a major initiative of the Belize Tourism Industry Association (BTIA) – Belize’s leading national private sector tourism association. BTIA represents a unified voice, and advocates for issues that benefit its members. BTIA also influences tourism policy, legislation and marketing for the sustainable development of the industry and improved quality of the visitor experience. BETEX was first organized in 1996 as the most important event for any trade professional interested in doing travel related business with Belize. The second BETEX show was held in 1997. In 2004, the show was re-energized with the first of its kind Marketplace & Expedition format. Taking place every two years, subsequent shows were held in 2006 and 2008, with approximately 350 local and international tourism professionals and press representatives attending BETEX each year. BTIA now boasts five successful BETEX shows, the only show of its kind in Belize. The next show is scheduled for June 23 – 27, 2010.

BETEX is a five-day business-to-business event showcasing Belize travel destinations, hotels, tour operators, and other tourism service providers.
